Our Story

At CARING FOR ORPHANS AND THE NEEDY (CFOAN), we are dedicated to transforming lives through compassion, education, and community support. Founded by Daniel Sesay, our organisation began with a heartfelt mission to provide care and opportunities for orphans in Daniel’s hometown of Sierra Leone. Over the years, his independent efforts grew into a vision to extend support beyond borders, leading to the establishment of our Community Interest Company (CIC) in the UK.
Our Journey
Daniel Sesay’s passion for helping those in need inspired him to take action, initially supporting vulnerable children in Sierra Leone with shelter, education, and hope. In 2025, he expanded this vision by launching CFOAN as a CIC, focusing on improving physical and mental wellbeing within the UK community. Through structured physical education activities, such as running clubs and fitness programs, alongside mental health workshops, we empower individuals to lead healthier, happier lives.
Our Work in the UK
Recognising the growing need for holistic wellbeing support, CFOAN has developed initiatives that foster resilience, connection, and personal growth. Thanks to funding from the Big Lottery Community Fund, we are proud to launch our latest project:
🌿 Roots to Wellness 🌿
This exciting new program supports the Hackbridge community in thriving through physical activity, mental health awareness, and social connection. By providing accessible workshops, fitness sessions, and wellbeing resources, we aim to create a stronger, healthier community where everyone can flourish.

Our Vision
We believe that every individual deserves care, opportunity, and support—whether they are an orphan in Sierra Leone or a member of our UK community facing challenges. Through education, physical health, and mental wellbeing programs, we strive to build a world where no one is left behind.
Join us in making a difference—because when we care for each other, we grow together.
